Junior golfers from all over Cyprus will compete in the “Severis International Open” to be held in Pafos this February. Also attending will be the Hellenic Golf Federation who confirmed their participation with a team of young golfers from Greece.
The Greek team visited Cyprus in September last year when they competed in the first international junior golf match at Secret Valley and Elea in a two day tournament, resulting in a victory for the Cypriot team.
Cyprus Golf Federation’s director of junior golf, Terry Scott said: “The spirit which these junior golfers played is a credit to their country, their clubs and their families. There were no cross words, bad feelings, or showing off. These young boys and girls showed us how this wonderful game should be played.”
The forthcoming junior competition is an individual event and will be decided by “Stroke Play” in a two-day event over 36 holes to be played at the Secret Valley Golf Club on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th February 2015. The event is open to both national and international entrants and is sponsored by the Severis family for a third consecutive year in memory of Nicos Severis, the late President of the Cyprus Golf Federation.
